We are delighted to have 180 WIs in our Norfolk Federation with over 6,000 members. Several WIs have fewer than ten members and the largest has 97, so the range is diverse.
The first Institutes were set up in 1918, and the Federation in 1919. The office is housed in a Georgian building in the middle of Norwich where we have been since 1954. Many members visit the office for collection of our monthly newspaper, the WI Gazette, purchasing essential supplies and gifts, and attending day schools.
The Sub-Committees of the Federation are extremely busy throughout the year offering a range of activities from visiting windmills and Beth Chatto's gardens to learning about health, trying a new skill like découpage or listening to possible new speakers at auditions days.
Please contact the Federation Office if you are interested in any of the events mentioned, have any special skills to offer, or feel that you could help the Federation by joining a sub-committee.
