The 2009-10 DARTS FINAL took place at Attleborough Snooker Centre
This year 40 teams took part and we hope that they all enjoyed their games and are looking forward to taking part again next year. We are altering the rules slightly
to help you in 2011. First we will allow teams which include members from more than one institute, so if you only have 2 or 3 players, check out neighbouring
institutes before deciding you cannot take part.
Secondly, we plan to extend the playing time to the end of March and hold the final in May.
This would give you chance to travel to matches in better weather should we have snow again next year.
2009-10 Darts winners: Pulham 'B' Team
Winners of the scrabble pairs trophy 2010 were: Old Buckenham
Runners-up in the scrabble pairs were Houghton and The Rudhams
Winners of the 2010 Indoor Bowls final at Acle Sports Centre:
South Walsham were declared worthy winners by winning all their matches. Newton Flotman were second and
Caister on Sea, who won the same amount of games as Newton Flotman were third. Newton Flotman had a
superior points difference. See you next year – 16th April 2011.
In 2009 Sports & Leisure committee had an extremely busy but successful 90th year. For our special event in this year we held a Visual Treasure Hunt in the village of Cawston. We wanted this to be a family event and were gratified that several husbands made up the teams and one team had two dogs with them!
Cawston WI very kindly supplied tea, coffee & biscuits before and after the event which culminated in a picnic. All of our committee were involved in the organisation, but special thanks must go to Maggie Gallop for all the computer work and producing the evil angled shots of objects the contestants had to find. The eventual winners were Wroxham WI. This was a very enjoyable occasion and we are planning to hold a further Treasure Hunt in the south of the county in June 2010.
As well as our usual round of petanque and outdoor bowls during May & June, in July the Federation bowls team had a match against the Norfolk Vice- Presidents Association. It was a close match, but we were delighted that our team won the shield for only the second time in the eleven years the match has been played. The shield was presented by Marion Harrison, President of the Norfolk Vice-Presidents and ex member of the Sports & Leisure committee for many years.

The darts season came to an end in April with the finals being held at Attleborough snooker club. The eventual winners were Barford & Wramplingham WI who
were presented with the shield by Maxine Browne. Maxine is retiring from our committee next March, having organised the darts and line dancing for many years.
We shall all miss her and thank her for all her hard work. This season the darts is being organised by Lesley Sanders, so the darts is in good hands.

The most recent event was the WI Golf day which was held at Bawburgh Golf Club. Two Sheringham ladies swept the board. Pauline Dellow won the handicap with Sue Chapman of Cringleford Evening runner up and Pauline Craske won the scratch prize. The runner up was Lorna Bygrave of Cringleford Evening WI. We were fortunate
with the weather, and had a very enjoyable day.
